I love it when you can start to see the big green bulbs forming on the peony bushes. It’s a sign that warm days aren’t too far away and their gorgeous, pinkish white flower will soon be revealed to the world. But as much as I’m looking forward to filling our bathroom with their fragrant blooms, I’m not quite ready to shut the door on spring.
With a few weeks left before schools close and the pools open, here are a few things I’ve been crushing on between all the recent showers!
These Bed Stu Sandals first popped up in my Instagram feed and I can’t get them out of my head. I’m not much the gladiator type, but I love the neutral color and the versatility of these sandals. You could basically wear these with anything from jean shorts or boyfriends with a white tee to a dress and jean jacket.
The new Apricot Tea scent from Nest. My newly minted five-year-old and I just returned from a weekend in Colorado Springs where we did some boutique shopping in “downtown” Monument and came across this candle. The scent is incredible – equal parts fresh and spring.
This podcast. I’ve just recently started listening to more podcasts and find that they offer a great escape when doing chores around the house, mindless computer work and even exercising. Life Lately feels like a conversation with a couple of friends – not the friends who have broken up with their boyfriend for the 15th time, but the friends who you call up for dinner only to find they took off on a last minute trip to Europe.
This parsley ramp pesto recipe. While we’d likely give up the $40/lb. for ramps at the local farmers’ market, we fortunately don’t have to because my parents have a ton of ramps growing in their woods. We recently came home with a bounty and I chopped some up for this tasty pesto, which you can put on everything from salmon to breakfast sandwiches. SCRUMP DILLY.
And finally, a nod to my 95-year-old grandmother, this strawberry rhubarb pie recipe. It’s going in the oven this weekend!
So, what’s keeping you inspired and smiling this spring?
